Terms & Conditions
Click and Collect
We endeavour to have Click and Collect orders ready for collection within one hour of receipt of payment.
Customers will be notified by e-mail as soon as the order has been processed.
Shipping
For orders placed before 4pm, we endeavour to ship them the same day. Our guarantee is that orders will be shipped within 2 working days of receipt. If for any reason there is a delay, we send notification via e-mail. Please note that the shop is closed on Mondays.
Orders are packaged in a heavy-duty plastic mailer bag and all efforts made to protect the contents.
United Kingdom
We charge a flat rate of £3.20 per order and ship via Royal Mail using their 2nd class postal service. However, when the postage cost for 1st class shipping is less than £3.20, we send the parcel via 1st class instead.
We obtain proof of posting and once the order has been despatched, we accept no responsibility for lost or damaged items. Any claims need to be made to Royal Mail by the customer.
International
For shipping outside of the UK, please contact us and we will send you a quote for shipping.
Making a Purchase
For each item, we aim to give as much information as possible regarding scale of pattern, fabric width, weight, etc.
We also try to ensure that our photos are an accurate representation of each item. However, please be aware that colours may vary on different laptop/mobile screens.
If you have any queries, please ring us on 01778-420464 or e-mail us at [email protected].
All prices quoted are in £ sterling.
Dressmaking fabrics are sold in half metre (50cm) increments, so if you require 1m please select 2 in the quantity box, etc. Fabrics will be cut as one continuous piece.
Quilting and craft cottons are sold in quarter metre (25cm) increments, so if you require 0.5m please select 2 in the quantity box, etc. Fabrics will be sent in one continuous piece.
We endeavour to keep our stock quantities as accurate as possible. However, as we are also selling the same stock in our bricks and mortar shop, in the unfortunate event that we are unable to supply an item, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Should you wish to cancel an order, please notify us within 24 hours by e-mail to [email protected].
Returns
Purchased items are non-returnable unless they are damaged or faulty.
We make every effort to ensure that all items are in good condition. However, should an item be damaged or faulty, please contact us via e-mail at [email protected] and we will advise on how to proceed.
Should items need to be returned, we will reimburse shipping costs via Royal Mail 2nd class postage.
Items packaged by a manufacturer may be returned unopened within 7 days of purchase and a full refund given. However, we will not cover shipping costs.
Any refunds will be made within 5 working days of us receiving the returned goods, via the same payment method used when the order was placed.
Please note that we do not give refunds on any cut, altered or washed fabrics.
We do not give refunds for any discounted or SALE items.
Workshops
Booking
All workshops must be paid for in full at the time of booking.
Bookings may be made online, over the phone or in the shop and can be made up to 24 hours before the start of the workshop provided there are spaces available.
Due to the limited availability of places and the costs incurred in running a workshop, payments are non-refundable and non-transferrable unless someone can be found to take your place. So, please check your diary carefully before making a booking.
By booking a workshop you agree to the terms and conditions set out on this page.
Cancellations
In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel a booking, please contact us as soon as possible. Sometimes we have a waiting list and may be able to find someone to replace you.
In the unlikely event that we will need to cancel a workshop due to not having enough attendees to make the workshop viable, staff illness or exceptional circumstances, we will give you at least 24 hours notice via e-mail and offer you a transfer, full refund, or voucher.
If you are running late for a workshop, please ring us to let us know. Unfortunately, if you are more than half an hour late, you will be unable to attend as there won’t be enough time to catch up and it will be disruptive to the other attendees.
Attending a Workshop
Within one week of booking, we will send you a confirmation e-mail. If you don’t receive one, please check your spam/junk folder.
The e-mail will include a full list of materials required, all of which are available to purchase in the shop or from our website. Please contact us ASAP with any queries.
All materials required must be purchased prior to attending the workshop.
A reminder e-mail will be sent one week before the workshop date.
For dressmaking workshops, we highly recommend that fabrics are pre-washed in case of possible shrinkage.
Occasionally we ask that all cutting out is done at home so that we can maximise sewing time during the workshop. Should that be the case, all cutting out instructions will be sent to you with your confirmation e-mail. Cutting out often takes longer than you think, so we suggest that you allow plenty of time. If you have any queries, please contact us.
You will need to bring your own sewing machine (don’t forget the pedal!). All machines must be in good working order and should we deem a sewing machine unsafe, you will not be allowed to use it.
However, please let us know in advance if you need to use one of ours at a cost of £5 per workshop.
For all workshops (apart from Know Your Machine) you will need to know how to use a sewing machine.
To save time we highly recommend that you wind your bobbin and thread your machine at home.
Please arrive a little before the start of the workshop so you can get set up and there is no delay or disruption to other workshop attendees. Admittance to the classroom will be permitted 15 minutes before the start of the class.
During each workshop you will make the item we have designed and to the dimensions we have specified.
Details of nearby parking facilities are listed on our Visit Us page.
