Our Santa sack sewing pattern is for large drawstring bag with ribbon ties and glow in the dark personalisation. This bag may be filled with gorgeous treats and used all year round, not just at Christmas.
The finished bag size is: Height 62cm (24″) x Width 53cm (21″).

Sewing Level:
The bag pattern is suitable for confident beginners who are confident using a sewing machine.
Fabric Suggestions:
For ease of sewing we recommend stable cotton or polycotton fabrics such as quilting cottons or soft furnishing fabrics.
Requirements:
- 60cm x 150cm (60”) wide fabric OR 75cm x 112cm (42”) wide cotton fabric for bag
- Lewis & Irene Christmas Glow alphabet panel
- 25cm x 112cm (42”) wide cotton fabric for letter backing panel
- 2m cord or ribbon for drawstring
- 75cm Steam-A-Seam Lite
- Thread
- Safety pin or bodkin
- Sewing machine and general sewing tools
All fabrics and tools required are available to purchase in our shop or via our website.
For our sample we used our Addison red tartan check cotton fabric for the bag and our Makower UK 306/W1 Essentials star white on white cotton fabric for the name panel.
