With everyone doing their little bit to save the environment, we can never have enough reusable tote bags and our lined tote bag is the perfect size for everyday use.
It folds up small so is easily stored in a handbag and is reversible too. The bag is simple to make and perfect for learning some basic sewing skills. They are perfect for giving away as gifts too.
The finished bag size is: Height 36.5cm (14.5″) x Width 38cm (15″) x Depth at Base 10cm (4″).
This sewing pattern for the lined tote bag has been tried and tested in many of our workshops and we are delighted to be able to offer the pattern to all of our customers.
When purchasing this pattern you will be sent a link for a 5 page pdf document that can be downloaded and printed. The document contains detailed sewing instructions together with colour photographs to enhance the written instructions.

Sewing Level:
The bag pattern is suitable for beginners.
Fabric Suggestions:
For ease of sewing we recommend stable cotton or polycotton fabrics such as quilting cottons or soft furnishing fabrics.
Requirements:
- Fabric A (outer bag) – 0.5m x 112cm/42” wide cotton fabric
- Fabric B (lining) – 0.5m x 112cm/42” wide cotton fabric
- Matching thread
- Loop turner (optional)
- Sewing machine and basic sewing tools
All fabrics and tools required are available to purchase in our shop or via our website.
For our sample we used the ‘Hoot Hoot’ cotton fabrics from Andover.
