Children’s – Easter Bunny Bag Sewing Workshop – Wednesday 5th April – 10am to 12pm

£30.00 per workshop

During the school holidays, give your children the gift of combining their love of Easter with the opportunity to have fun learning some new hand and machine sewing skills.

Let the children choose to sew an Easter bunny bag with pink or blue spotty ears.  They will use simple embroidery stitches to create the nose and whiskers, and finish the face by sewing on buttons on for eyes.  The fully lined bag will be stitched together by machine and they will finish off their bags by sticking on a pompom tail.

The bag is big enough to carry a few Easter treats which can be kept safe by tying the ears to close the bag.

As all materials for this workshop are included in the cost, each child will receive a kit containing everything they need, including a special Easter treat.  Afterwards they will be able to take the pattern and instructions home so that they can make many more bags.

Please note that this workshop is suitable for children age 8+ that know how to use a sewing machine.

The children will learn how to:

Sew an Easter Bunny bag measuring: Height (including ears) 26cm (10”), Height (excluding ears) 11.5cm (4.5”), Width 13cm (5”);

Pin the pattern to the fabric;

Cut out their fabric;

Stitch the face using basic embroidery stitches;

Sew buttons on for the eyes;

Sew seams with correct seam allowance;

Stitch the lining closed;

Add a pompom tail.

Skill Level:

Suitable for children aged 8+ (they must already know how to use a sewing machine)

Please scroll down for full information.

Due to the limited availability of places and the costs incurred in running a workshop, payments are non-refundable and non-transferrable unless someone can be found to take your place.  So, please check your diary carefully before making a booking.

Tutor:

Fiona Wafaa – Fiona is DBS checked and here is her story in her own words: “My Mum taught me to sew when I was a little girl. However, I didn’t really do much as a young adult but picked it up again when I had an event to go to and found the dresses that I liked to be so expensive.
A few years ago I joined the Instagram sewing community and it spurred me on to have a handmade wardrobe. I am a big fan of the indie pattern companies and love to give most things a try. You can check out my makes on Instagram @sew.waffles.”  Find out more.

If you are running late for a workshop, please ring us to let us know.  Unfortunately, if you are more than half an hour late, you will be unable to attend as there won’t be enough time to catch up and it will be disruptive to the other attendees.

The e-mail will include a full list of materials required, all of which are available to purchase in the shop or from our website.  Please contact us ASAP with any queries.
